What to do if the leaves of Jade Dew are shriveled

Why do the leaves of Jade Dew wither? Waterlogging in the pot soil

Because Jade Plant is a shallow-rooted succulent plant, it does not require a deep pot when growing it. The soil also needs to be loose and have good drainage so that it can grow fresh and juicy.

When watering, be sure to prevent water accumulation. If water accumulates in the soil, the roots of the jade plant will rot or even become sick. The leaves cannot absorb nutrients and begin to shrink. Soon they will slowly dry up and shrink, or even die.

Why do the leaves of Jade Dew wither?

The leaves of Jade Plant must be crystal clear and plump, so they can be called "Jade Plant". However, this "dewy" plant does not like to be rained on.

After the rain, raindrops slide down the leaves and accumulate at the roots, which can easily cause root rot. The shriveling of jade plant leaves is mostly due to root rot. Long-term rain exposure is even more unacceptable!

Why do the leaves of Jade Dew shrivel up: Frost

Although the jade plant likes shade, it doesn’t mean it is cold-resistant! Jade plants kept indoors may sometimes get frozen due to the lower temperature at night. After being frozen, the leaves began to shrivel and wither, and the windows shrank inward, like a deflated balloon.

What to do when the leaves of Jade Dew shrivel up

If the leaves become shriveled due to root rot after overwatering or rain, you can pull up the plant and change the soil in the pot.

The soil in the pot just needs to be slightly moist. Remove the rotten roots and peel off some of the bark on the root system to expose the stem of the plant. Then remove the shriveled leaves and wait for it to grow roots again.

If the leaves become shriveled after being frozen, you should pick off the shriveled leaves of the plant and place it in a sunny place to dry it in the sun, preferably behind a screen window, to avoid burns caused by strong light.
