How to plant ginseng ficus seeds

Preparation of potting soil for Ficus ginseng

The most common method of propagating ginseng fig is sowing. Generally speaking, sowing ginseng fig requires fertile, loose and well-drained potting soil or culture soil. In addition, because the ginseng fig itself is physically strong, there is no need to strictly sterilize the seeds.

Seed preparation before sowing

Generally speaking, ginseng ficus seeds must be collected before sowing, because this plant can be sown immediately after harvesting. First, pick the ripe pink berries and scrub them until they are mushy. It should be noted that when scrubbing, you should prepare cotton gauze to wrap the seeds tightly, then prepare a basin of clean water (it is best to add more water), and then scrub them repeatedly and vigorously in the basin. After scrubbing, wring it dry, then spread out the gauze to dry in the sun, and you can sow after two or three days.

Specific steps for sowing ginseng ficus

When sowing ginseng fig, you must first prepare the potting soil, that is, mix the coal slag and base fertilizer evenly, then put it into a clay pot of appropriate size, and water it thoroughly in preparation for sowing. After that, sprinkle the dried seeds and berry residue on the culture soil, being careful not to cover them with soil. After that, move the plant pot to a place with sufficient light but avoid rain, and spray water on the pot soil frequently, keeping the ambient temperature between 25-30 degrees. In this way, it will germinate in ten days. After the plant has grown for half a month, you can spray urea or liquid fertilizers such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate on the leaves to promote plant growth. Once the plant has six or seven leaves, it can be transplanted.
