How to plant Jade Fan seeds

Jade fan sowing temperature

The suitable temperature for germination of Jade Fan seeds is around 20℃. The temperature should generally not be lower than 10℃, and preferably not higher than 25℃. And there needs to be a temperature difference between day and night of about 8-10℃.

Jade fan sowing medium

Generally, you can choose a loose, water-retaining, and air-permeable matrix with a particle diameter of less than 3 mm and a thickness of about 5 or 6 cm. For example, you can choose to mix Akadama soil, Kanuma soil, rice husk ash and high-quality peat in a ratio of 4:4:1:1, or mix vermiculite, Akadama soil, perlite, rice husk charcoal and peat in a ratio of 5:5:5:3:2, and finally add some fungicide and base fertilizer in an appropriate amount.

How to sow the Jade Fan

Put dry soil into the pot, level the soil surface, and then start spot sowing or broadcasting, covering with a thin layer of soil that is about the same thickness as the seeds. Then spray carbendazim, potassium permanganate and other fungicide solutions for disinfection, leave it overnight, and then start full-coverage management. When it is filled with water vapor, open it to ventilate. Be careful to avoid direct sunlight, otherwise the seeds will be cooked due to the rapid temperature rise in the soil. Keep the substrate moist. Spray fungicide about once a week, and pay attention to alternating and changing the types of fungicide.

Management of Jade Fan after sowing

After the Jade Fan is sown, the germination time varies depending on the specific situation, and most of them will germinate after 10-20 days. After germination, keep the environment alternately dry and wet. After one month, increase the ventilation. After two months, there is no need to keep it in a sealed environment. Pay attention to the appropriate light and temperature. Generally, 60% shading is appropriate, and control the seedlings not to get red from the sun. You can start applying a small amount of liquid fertilizer at two months to provide certain nutrients. At the same time, pay attention to keeping warm, the general temperature should not be lower than 5℃.
