Disease and Pest Control of Nugget Grass

Aphids often occur in duckweed during its growth period. You can spray it with 1000-1200 times of trichlorfon or dichlorvos, or spray it with 200 times of 50% malathion emulsion.

For snails, you can use tea cakes, quicklime or turmeric powder to kill them, and you can also continue to remove water moss and weeds.

To prevent and control water sponge (moss), you can spray copper sulfate in the water. The concentration in the seedling stage is 3-5 mg/L, and the concentration in the seedling stage is 30-50 mg/L.

To kill insects such as the Spodoptera litura, spray 1000-1500 times the concentration of Dimethoate on the surface of the leaves.

How to cultivate duckweed

Tank and pool selection

Choose a tank with a height of 65 cm, an inner diameter of 65-80 cm, a pond with an inner diameter of 1×1 m or 2×2 m, and a depth of 60 cm for planting.

illumination

Nivea prefers an environment with plenty of sunlight, but generally speaking, light has little effect on its growth.

soil

Nugget can grow normally under pH=5.5~7.5. However, the fertility of the soil is related to its growth status. If the soil is fertile, there will be more flowers, the colors will be brighter, the flowering period will be longer, the growth will be vigorous, and the viewing period will be long; otherwise, it will lose its ornamental value.

temperature

Nugget grows best in an environment with a temperature of 15~32℃, and will stop growing below 12℃. Duckweed can withstand low temperatures and does not require cold-proofing during the winter in the south, and can overwinter in open-air pools. In the north, it needs protection during the winter, and the temperature of Duckweed during its dormancy period can be kept at 0~5℃.
