Green treasure breeding skills and precautions

The green treasure tree , also known as the Hainan bean tree , is a tree species. The Green Treasure Tree has an elegant and beautiful posture and is evergreen all year round. The flowers have a long flowering period, high ornamental value, and simple maintenance. Many people like to grow this plant at home. Let’s talk about the cultivation techniques and precautions of Green Treasure.

1. Soil

The green treasure tree likes loose, porous, breathable and well-drained soil. You can prepare the cultivation medium yourself with humus, peat soil and perlite in a ratio of 4:2:2.

2. Lighting

Green Treasure is a light-loving plant. It can survive long periods of sunlight when the temperature is below 30 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius, it needs to be shaded and maintained with scattered light. Strong light will burn the leaves and affect their appearance. If the Green Treasure is kept indoors for a long time without sunlight and ventilation, it will cause a large number of leaves to fall off.

3. Watering

Green Treasure is a water-loving plant. The soil must be kept moist, but not waterlogged. Its leaves should be sprayed with water frequently. If the soil is too dry or too wet, a large number of leaves will fall. However, if the temperature is too low, you need to control the water appropriately. Green Treasure is not frost-resistant. Start controlling the water when the temperature is below 10 degrees. Place it in a sunny place indoors below zero degrees. Spray water on the leaves frequently. Wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering. Keeping the plant moist for a long time will freeze to death. If the weather is too hot and humid in summer, Green Treasure must be placed in a ventilated place. If the soil in the pot is damp and hot and not ventilated, the soil in the pot will easily breed bacteria and cause the death of the plant.

4. Fertilization

Green Treasure likes fertilizer very much. Avoid the summer and winter, and you can fertilize it during its growing season. Apply compound fertilizer mainly composed of nitrogen fertilizer every 20 days or so every half a month, and you can also use solution to irrigate the roots and spray the leaves.

5. Temperature

The suitable growth temperature for Green Treasure is 18-30℃, and the temperature for wintering should not be lower than about 5 degrees. If the temperature is too low for a long time in winter, it will easily drop leaves, and the branches and leaves may wither and die.

6. Pests and diseases

Green Treasure is prone to scale insects and red spiders. If scale insects occur, spray the entire plant with a 1:10 solution of Scale Spirit. Spray both sides of the leaves, the surface of the potting soil, and the surrounding area of the potting ground. To treat red spider mites, use acetamiprid and cypermethrin according to the ratio in the instructions and spray them on the front and back of the leaves of the entire plant, the surface of the potting soil and the ground around the pot.

7. Pruning

When the green treasure is growing vigorously, it needs to be pruned in time, otherwise the messy growth will affect the appearance. In spring, you can prune the messy branches, dead branches, and diseased branches. It can also be trimmed into any shape you like.

The Emerald Tree is a plant that is very suitable for home cultivation. It not only purifies the air and embellishes the environment, but also has very good feng shui implications. It is a rare gardening variety.
