Datura black spot

symptom

One of the more common diseases of Datura, which harms the leaves.

Like other diseases, it will overwinter on diseased remains, and when the temperature is suitable in the second year, conidia will be produced, spreading through wind and rain to continue infecting. July and August are the peak periods for the disease, and it is most serious when the temperature is high and there is a lot of rain.

The leaves initially become light brown and round, and later turn gray-brown or brown. When the humidity is high, black mold may also grow.

Prevention and treatment methods

When planting, plant at a reasonable density, pay attention to ventilation and drain water in time after rain.

Clean the garden after harvest and burn the diseased kernels and leaves;

Before and at the beginning of the disease, spray 50% thiocarb 1000 times solution or 65% wettable mancozeb 500 times solution

Datura wilt

symptom

The leaves of infected plants turn yellow between the lateral veins, then gradually turn brown, and die from the leaf margins, while the leaf veins remain green. The leaves gradually turn yellow and wilt from bottom to top, and the vascular bundles appear dark brown when the diseased stems are cross-sectioned. In some cases, only 1 to 2 branches become diseased. Those with severe disease cannot bear fruit.

Prevention and treatment methods

① Carry out crop rotation. ②If necessary, water with 600-700 times diluted 50% methyl thiophanate or carbendazim wettable powder before the disease occurs.
