Cultivation methods and precautions of large-leafed green radish

Cultivation methods and precautions of large-leafed green radish

1. Soil

It is best to use slightly acidic soil for growing large-leafed green radish. The soil needs to be loose to a certain extent and not too sticky. In addition, the drainage ability should be relatively good to avoid root rot caused by adding water.

2. Watering

Do not water too much on a daily basis. The soil should be kept slightly moist, but there should not be excess water accumulation. Stagnant water not only causes root rot, but also increases the incidence of insect infestations. In summer, water will evaporate faster, so the amount of watering should be increased appropriately, and the leaves should be sprayed with water to increase the humidity.

3. Lighting

When growing large-leafed green radish, you need to give it sufficient light and expose it to the sun appropriately at noon. The summer sun is too strong, so the plants need to be kept indoors to avoid sunburn. It can be placed in a well-lit place indoors for maintenance, such as a balcony.

4. Fertilization

You need to be careful when fertilizing it. If inorganic fertilizer is used, it will be difficult for the plant to absorb it, so special fertilizer is needed. When the plant growth slows down, the amount of fertilizer needs to be controlled, and the leaves can be sprayed in winter.

5. Notes

1. Pruning: During the growth of the plant, yellow leaves, diseased leaves, etc. may appear due to improper maintenance. Once discovered, they should be pruned in time.

2. Repotting: Generally, the plant needs to be repotted once every three years, which can be done in June.
