What soil should be used for rain orchids

1. What kind of soil to use

It is very easy to grow and does not require particularly good soil. It is not picky about the soil and any soil will do as long as the soil is breathable enough and can retain water. You can use ordinary garden soil with rotten leaves and coal slag to grow it, or you can use perlite, vermiculite and bran to mix and plant it. You can also use peat, perlite and rough sand and stone to grow it, or you can use ordinary garden soil with some nutrient soil and gravel to grow it.

All of these methods are possible, just choose according to your personal preferences and the difficulty of obtaining them. It is best to use a clay pot to plant it, which will allow better drainage and ventilation, and is better for root growth. However, it does not mind plastic pots as long as there is no water accumulation in the pot. Because the soil is relatively moist after rain, it usually uses rainy days to bloom and sow, which results in a higher germination rate.

2. How to plant

It is more suitable to be made into potted plants and does not require special care. Although its leaves look very fragile, its flowers will fill the entire pot in summer and the flowering period can last up to three months. It is very suitable for planting in the courtyard as decoration. Its planting requirements are not high. Generally, five to six trees can be planted in a pot of more than 20 centimeters. The soil should be two or three centimeters thick. Use a medium-sized pot that is neither too deep nor too shallow.

After planting, you don't need to take care of it except for normal watering and fertilizing. Let it get more sunlight on normal days. If its branches and leaves are not very dense, you can add some compound fertilizer to it, and it will burst out of the pot after the rain. If it is a seed, the germination rate is almost zero when the temperature is below 20℃, so the temperature must be considered when planting.
