Reproduction method

Seed propagation

Generally speaking, when the seeds of the stronger spring fern plants mature, they can be removed and cultivated separately for reproduction. The sowing soil during sowing is mostly made of sandy humus soil with a small amount of cow dung. When sowing, pay attention to maintaining a suitable temperature, ensuring that the bed temperature and ambient temperature are between 25℃-30℃, so that the seeds can germinate quickly. If the temperature is too low, it will be difficult for them to germinate.

Propagation by division

Generally, the base of a vigorously growing spring fern plant can sprout tillers. When the tillers grow to 4-5 leaves and produce adventitious roots, they can be separated from the mother root. That is, after the plant takes root, the separated tillers can be cultivated separately after a while for reproduction. The tillers are very easy to survive with this reproduction method.

Cutting propagation

Spring fern is often propagated by cuttings in sandy soil. The best breeding season is from May to September. Simply put, cut 2-3 sections of strong stems, insert them into sphagnum moss or coarse sand to take root, keep the soil moist, and it will generally take 20 days to take root. Alternatively, you can cut off the upper part of the spring fern plant for cuttings. The old plant at the bottom will sprout many young shoots, which can also be reproduced.

Precautions

When propagating by sowing, pay attention to the ambient temperature. Only when the temperature is suitable can the roots take root quickly.

When propagating by division, pay attention to maintaining the environmental humidity, place it in a cool place, and increase the environmental humidity. When separating small beads from old beads, try not to damage the old beads, especially the roots of the old beads. You can choose to pinch off the side beads in advance.
