Methods of reproductionMint likes a warm and humid environment with plenty of sunshine and rainfall. In such an environment, mint can generally grow new seedlings at a temperature of 6-5°C. Mint plants are suitable for growing in a temperature environment of 20-30°C and have strong cold resistance. Among the methods of propagation of mint, the most commonly used method is division, and rhizomes are often used for division. Of course, it can also be propagated by cuttings and seeds. It is very easy to grow roots by using cut stems from spring to summer. However, compared with the first method, the cutting and seed propagation methods of mint grow slower and are very easy to mutate, so the latter two methods are rarely used. Cutting propagation methodThe best time to plant and propagate mint using this method is in May and June. First, select a mint plant, cut its stems into cuttings about 10 cm long, and prepare the culture soil as a seedbed. At this time, plant the cut mint cuttings in the prepared seedbed and water them immediately. When planting in large quantities, pay attention to growing seedlings in rows of 7×3 cm. After they have taken root and sprouted, they can be transplanted into the field for cultivation. Note that the soil for growing mint should be loose, fertile, and well-drained sandy soil. This kind of soil is suitable for the growth of mint and helps its reproduction. Mint requires more water in the early and middle stages of its growth, so pay attention to watering. In the later stages, it requires relatively less water, so pay attention to drainage. |
