Watering method

During the growing period of yew, it needs sufficient water. At this time, you should water it more. During the winter dormancy period, you should water it less because the growth of the plant basically stagnates and its water absorption capacity will decrease. In spring and autumn, water the plants about once every 7 days, and in summer, water them about once every 2-3 days. In addition to watering, you should also spray the leaves with water mist frequently, especially during the high temperatures in summer.

Symptoms of water shortage

Wrong leaf color

Under normal circumstances, the color of yew leaves is bright and shiny. If you find that the leaves are dull and wilted, you need to add water. When the leaves droop, it means there is an extreme lack of water.

The color and sound of the potting soil are wrong

If you find that the color of the potting soil turns white and lighter, it means that the yew plant is lacking water. If you knock on the flowerpot and it makes a hollow sound, it means the soil is very dry and needs watering.

Precautions

During the winter dormancy period, watering should be done in a way that the soil is better dry than wet. The watering temperature should be similar to the ambient temperature, and the temperature difference should not be too large. Don't water too frequently or it will cause root rot.
