What fertilizer to use for roses? What to do if you use too much fertilizer?

1. What fertilizer to apply

During the management period, it is necessary to fertilize it frequently and choose the right kind of fertilizer so that it can bloom and grow better. The specific fertilizer to be applied depends on the season or growth stage. When the plants are first planted, base fertilizer should be applied. Use decomposed fertilizer, and apply top dressing once half a month later. Before flowering, apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer solution to promote flower bud differentiation. After flowering, organic fertilizer should be applied to supplement nutrients. Wintering fertilizer should be applied in late autumn and early winter. At this time, nitrogen, phosphorus and calcium fertilizers can be used to improve cold resistance.

2. What to do if you apply too much fertilizer

Although it is a fertilizer-loving plant, be careful not to apply too much fertilizer at one time, otherwise the roots will easily rot, and in severe cases the plant will be burned to death. Therefore, excessive fertilization must be treated as soon as possible. You can water it with plenty of clean water to rinse it, so that the fertilizer will be diluted and flow out with the water, thus avoiding fertilizer damage. However, if the situation is more serious, it is best to change the soil as soon as possible and replace it with new soil to avoid root rot.

3. Fertilization method

When fertilizing roses, it is recommended to bury the fertilizer in the soil rather than spreading it directly on the surface. Burying it in the soil can dilute it faster and the plants can absorb it better, but be careful not to bury it too close or too deep. Too close may burn the roots, too deep may dig up the root system. The trench should be dug as shallow as possible, and after burying the seeds, water them in an appropriate amount to dilute them so that they will be quickly absorbed by the plants.
