How to prevent tiger tail orchid from rotting in winter

Warning before entering the room

Although Tiger tail orchid is very durable during the growing season, it must be placed in a sunny place after bringing it indoors in winter to allow it to receive as much light as possible. This can increase its body temperature and keep the body vigorous, thereby improving its cold resistance. Tiger tail orchid is extremely drought-resistant. If it is watered too much, it will easily rot even in a place with high temperature and sufficient light.

Watering Note

In winter, do not water the plant unless the soil is particularly dry. In homes with generally lower temperatures, water the plant once every 15-20 days, and in homes with higher temperatures, water the plant once every 7-10 days. The amount of water should be just enough to seep into the bottom of the basin. It is better to have less rather than more.

The lower the temperature, the less watering should be done to keep the leaves from wilting. To increase the plant's resistance to cold, you can water it with warm water at about 20 degrees.

Temperature Attention

Tiger tail orchid is most afraid of severe cold, and the room temperature should be kept above 15 degrees, and at least not lower than 7-8 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is too low, you should try to increase the temperature. A slightly dry environment is fine, but avoid smoke or fire.

Rot Remedies

For rotten plants, if there are still healthy leaves, you can cut off the dry incision and insert it into the sand. After watering thoroughly once, place it in a place with higher temperature. Keep the sand slightly dry. It will soon take root and then you can plant it in well-drained soil.
