How to fertilize plumeria

How to fertilize plumeria

Nutrient requirements

In general, this plant prefers more fertilizer and naturally has higher requirements because it grows and develops very quickly. Of course, the flowering of plants also requires a large supply of nutrients, so a better choice of soil will not be a problem. If the soil itself is not satisfactory, it is even more necessary to remedy it by applying fertilizer.

What fertilizer to apply

There are many types, such as bone meal, superphosphate, various organic fertilizers (composted), etc. However, the best fertilizer to use is compound fertilizer, after all, it contains many types of nutrients.

Time-specific methods

In spring, it is best to change the pots of the plants and use some fertilizer in the soil accordingly. We can add 20 to 40 grams of bone meal to the culture soil, and more superphosphate, about 50 to 80 grams.

During the period from May to October, compound fertilizer (containing the three elements of N, P, and K) can be applied every ten days or half a month. This is the most important period, so you must pay attention.

I believe everyone is already familiar with winter treatment. Because the plants are in a dormant state, there are no special requirements for fertilizers, so there is no need to apply any fertilizers throughout the winter.

Precautions

When plants are growing and flowering, you must pay attention to the balance of nutrition and not just focus on one type of nutrient. For example, if only nitrogen fertilizer is applied, the plant may grow too tall.

The concentration of fertilizer used must also be controlled. It cannot be too high. Plants prefer thinner fertilizers.

Another point to note is that the fertilizer we apply after repotting must be buried deeper and must not come into direct contact with the roots of the plant.
