How to plant mountain tortoise

Before planting the mountain tortoise, you need to prepare a suitable flower pot. It is a deep-rooted plant, so you need to choose a deeper flower pot. You can use a ceramic pot or a clay pot. The soil can be a mixture of leaf mold, garden soil, slag, and granular soil. You can also mix garden soil, peat soil, perlite, and volcanic rock. Add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer and plant the mountain tortoise with the bottom part facing down.

Steps for growing mountain tortoise

Before planting mountain tortoises, you need to choose suitable soil. You need to provide loose, fertile, and highly breathable soil. You cannot use garden soil directly. You can mix leaf mold, garden soil, slag, and granular soil. You can also mix garden soil, peat soil, perlite, and volcanic rock. Add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer, disinfect it in advance, and remove the bacteria and insect eggs inside.

When planting mountain tortoises, you must judge the front and back sides. The bottom surface is slightly curved and will grow more roots. There is a bud point in the middle of the front side, which will be slightly concave. We usually place the bottom part downward, keep the soil moist but not stagnant, and do a good job of later maintenance and management.

Mountain turtle conservation and management matters

Mountain tortoise is propagated by sowing and division. It likes warm, humid and semi-shady environment and cannot tolerate strong sunlight. It needs shade in summer. It is not cold-resistant and the temperature in winter should not be lower than minus 5 degrees. It is suitable for planting in fertile and loose soil.
