Methods for accelerating germination of shallot seeds Three methods for raising seedlings of shallot seeds

Scallion is a very easy to cultivate vegetable. It is cultivated in many places in my country. It is widely used in daily cooking and has a very large market demand.

In daily household planting, in order to ensure that the shallots can germinate quickly, the germination method is used. When planting shallots on a large scale, in order to ensure the germination rate and uniformity of the seedlings, the shallot seeds are generally germinated.

Onion seed germination time

Scallions are generally planted when the climate is mild and the weather is relatively cool, that is, in spring and autumn, so the scallion seeding needs to be carried out before sowing in spring and autumn, usually in March-April in spring and September-October in autumn.

Green onion seed germination technology

1. Seed soaking and germination

Choose fresh shallot seeds with full grains and no diseases or insect pests. Soak them in warm water at about 50℃ for about 2 hours. Then take them out and place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry the skin. Be careful to avoid direct sunlight. After the seeds are dry, you can sow them.

2. Sandy soil germination

Select high-quality shallot seeds, mix the seeds and dry sand evenly and put them into a container. Then spray a small amount of water to keep the sand slightly moist. Be sure not to water too much. Cover with a thin layer of soil. The shallots will sprout in about three days.

3. Low temperature germination

Choose plump, fresh shallot seeds, mix them with slightly moist sand, then put them in a fresh-keeping bag or box, put them in the refrigerator, keep the temperature at 3-5℃, and you can take them out for sowing in about 2-3 days.
