When should I change the pot and soil for Molan?

When to change the pot

Mo Lan can be repotted all year round, but spring and autumn are the most suitable seasons. Everyone should pay attention that if the plant has flower buds, do not move it back and forth. You can wait until the flowers fade and then change the pot.

How to change soil

When repotting, replace half or 2/3 of the old soil and keep the soil around the roots to avoid excessive changes in the environment that may affect the growth of the plant.

The replacement soil is generally chosen by adding bark, peanut shells or orchid stone to ordinary soil. Note that new soil needs to be exposed to sunlight for disinfection before use.

Repotting method

First, remove the plant from the pot and trim the roots if necessary. If it is a young seedling, you don't need to prune it, just keep the soil around the roots. Let dry slightly in the shade.

Add 2/3 of new soil to the repot, then add the old soil and stir.

Plant the treated plants, support the plants with one hand and fill the soil with the other hand to compact the soil. Do not use excessive force to injure the orchid plants.

Maintenance after repotting

After repotting and changing the soil, water it thoroughly, place it in a cool and ventilated place, increase the air humidity, and you can manage it normally after 1 to 2 weeks.

Do not move the black orchid frequently during its acclimatization period. Just fix it in one place. Constant changes in the environment will prolong its acclimatization time.
