Water and fertilizer management tips for Teyulian

Water and fertilizer management tips for Teyulian

Watering

Due to the high moisture content inside the plant, the Jade Lotus is prone to rot in an overly humid environment. Avoid overwatering.

Reference watering amount: once every 10 days or so, water thoroughly each time. The frequency of watering can be increased or decreased as appropriate according to the climate differences in different regions and seasons.

To avoid water accumulation at the roots, it is best to choose a pot with drainage holes at the bottom. Novices can choose red clay pots with good air permeability when planting; glass containers absorb heat and have poor air permeability, so use with caution.

You need to be skillful when watering. If water drops on the leaves, it may cause the white frost to fall off, affecting the appearance.

Fertilization

It is not advisable to apply too much fertilizer to the Jade Lotus, especially nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will cause the plant to grow too tall.

Apply a thin layer of fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium once a month.

It is important to note that the nutrient consumption of the Jade Lotus is high during its flowering period. Flower lovers who want to feast their eyes on it should pay attention to fertilizing two to three times a month during the flowering period, with a small amount preferably to ensure sufficient nutrients. Otherwise, the flowering will consume too much of the mother plant, which can easily cause the leaves to wrinkle and affect the appearance.
