Cultivation methods and precautions of Verbena

Cultivation methods and precautions of Verbena

1. Loosen the soil

Verbena is an easy flower to grow. It is not very demanding on the soil and can grow normally in many types of soil. In order to promote good growth, it is best to provide loose, fertile, breathable, moist neutral soil to meet the basic needs of growth.

2. Appropriate exposure to light

Verbena cannot grow and bloom without sunlight. It can be exposed to sufficient diffuse light to meet its light needs. In summer, it is important to avoid direct sunlight. Direct sunlight will cause the leaves to become fewer, the leaves underneath to turn yellow and fall off, and the growth rate will be relatively slow.

3. Sufficient water

This plant cannot tolerate drought, so watering is very important. Water it in time during the growing season, especially in the summer when the temperature is high and evaporation is vigorous, so be sure to replenish water. Note that its root system is relatively shallow, so watering needs to be light, otherwise the soil at the roots will be washed away, which is not conducive to later growth.

4. Fertilize regularly

If it wants to maintain good growth, it is also necessary to pay attention to fertilization. Usually, fertilize according to the principle of applying thin fertilizers frequently. The amount of fertilizer applied each time should not be too much. Be careful not to splash the fertilizer onto the leaves and flowers.

5. Suitable temperature

Verbena likes a warm climate environment, and the suitable temperature is around 15-25 degrees Celsius. Too high or too low temperature is not conducive to growth. Avoid high temperatures in summer and move indoors to keep warm in winter.
