How to grow succulent plants outdoors

What temperature is suitable for outdoor cultivation?

The best season for outdoor cultivation is autumn. According to the local climate, after summer, when the temperature drops below 30℃, it can be moved outdoors. After moving it outdoors, water it in small amounts to allow the roots to get some water first. It’s just after summer, and many meats have not yet fully awakened, so we need to take it slow. Wait until the plant starts to show signs of recovery, then you can increase the amount of water. You cannot lack water during the season when succulents are growing rapidly!

During the outdoor maintenance process, you should pay attention to the growth status of each succulent plant. If you find that the condition is not good, move it back indoors in time to slow down.

Before winter comes, move your succulents back indoors. Generally, when the outdoor temperature reaches 5℃, you should start paying attention to the condition of the succulents. Move the succulents with thick leaves back first, and then move the other succulents back home one by one. When the temperature reaches 0℃, you must pay attention to keeping them warm.

Should we move indoors when it rains?

It does not matter if it rains, unless it is a heavy rain or continuous rainy days, then move the succulents to a sheltered place or indoors to avoid the rain. After the rain, be sure to clean the water droplets on the succulents and pour out the accumulated water in the pot, otherwise it will easily rot when exposed to the sun. It doesn't matter if the leaves are wet, but there should not be any water droplets on them.

Can leaf-cut seedlings be grown outdoors?

The treatment of seedlings grown from leaf cuttings also depends on the situation. It is not recommended to grow them outdoors for seedlings that have just sprouted, unless they are very hardy varieties.

If the seedlings have deep roots, no matter how many sprouts they have, they can be placed outside in the sun. If the roots are well grown, they will grow strongly wherever they are placed.
