What soil to use for Chinese evergreen

The soil requirements of Chinese evergreen

When growing plants, the most fundamental thing is suitable soil, because if the soil is not suitable, the growth of the plants will be inhibited and even some adverse phenomena will occur.

When growing Chinese evergreen, the soil requirement is that it needs to be loose, breathable, fertile and well-drained. Generally speaking, the soil you choose should have better air permeability and water retention.

When choosing soil for Peperomia, it is usually necessary to prepare it and mix multiple media together. The substrates that can be used here include river sand, peat soil, perlite, vermiculite, leaf mold, etc. When configuring the soil, you need to select some soil and configure it. For example, you can choose soil made of peat soil and perlite. The ratio can be set to 6 to 1, which is more suitable.

Of course, there are other ways to configure the soil.

Notes on the use of soil for Peperomia

Although we have talked about how to choose the soil for Peperomia, you still need to pay attention to some taboos when matching the soil.

First of all, Chinese evergreen is not suitable for growing in clay, because the air permeability and drainage of clay are very poor, so when choosing soil, it is best to match it with some soil with good air permeability.

Secondly, when preparing the soil, in order to maintain good fertility of the soil, you can add appropriate amount of decomposed organic fertilizer to the soil as base fertilizer.

Finally, the prepared soil needs to be kept moist. The moisture content of the soil should be between 40% and 60%. Don't add too much moisture.
