Teach you a trick of "home flower cultivation, fertilization and deodorization tips"

The first rice vinegar:

When fertilizing flowers, be sure to add a few drops of rice vinegar to the liquid fertilizer to eliminate the smell of the liquid fertilizer. This is because rice vinegar is weakly acidic and can neutralize the odor produced by some corrupt substances in the liquid fertilizer.

The second method uses orange peel:

You can put some orange peels (fresh or dried) into the fermented fertilizer water and allow the orange peels and fertilizer to ferment together. The large amount of essential oil contained in orange peel can be used to reduce the odor of liquid fertilizer, and the fermented orange peel is also a good fertilizer for flowers.

The third type of liquor:

Flower growers often say, "The fertilizer water has a strong smell, but adding a little white wine will kill the smell." This makes a lot of sense. Adding some white wine to the fertilizer when applying fertilizer can significantly remove the odor. In addition, flower lovers can also make some odor-free fertilizers at home.

The fourth method uses bean cake:

Grind the bean cake into powder, soak it and ferment it. It is a good organic fertilizer and will not cause odor after application.

The fifth way to use bone crusher:

Many flower growers use the broken bones of chickens and ducks as fertilizer for their flowers. The specific method is to soak the bones for a day or two to remove the salt, then use a pressure cooker with water to simmer them until they are crispy, stir them into a paste and take them out, then add 20% fine sand or coal ash, mix them evenly, cover the container with a layer of dry fine soil, sprinkle some pesticides, and then cover it to keep it loose and moist. After two or three months, the fertilizer will be fully decomposed, and it will have a good fertilizer effect when applied to flower pots, and there will be no odor at all.

The sixth method is to use compost to make fertilizer:

Many flower growers will collect various fruit peels and vegetable leaves and put them in a small jar, then add some water and an appropriate amount of alum, let it fully ferment and decompose, and then open the lid and leave it for a few days. This homemade fertilizer not only has no odor, but is also particularly suitable for the growth needs of common potted flowers such as azalea, gardenia, jasmine and other flowers.

The seventh method uses yogurt water and eggshell fertilizer:

Use rice water to rinse the washing water from the yogurt bottle (box) and broken eggshells, and then put them together to ferment for 7 to 10 days. It will become a nutrient-rich flower fertilizer, which is highly efficient and odorless when used for watering flowers.

Flower lovers who do not have time to make their own fertilizers can take the following methods to reduce odor when using ordinary liquid fertilizers.

1. Apply liquid fertilizer skillfully:

Before applying fertilizer, reduce the amount of watering to allow the soil in the pot to dry, and then apply fertilizer outdoors in the evening. Because the soil is relatively dry, it will absorb fertilizer faster and reduce the time the fertilizer is exposed to. Therefore, after the fertilizer liquid has seeped into the potting soil, you can pour a small amount of clean water to evenly rinse the residual fertilizer liquid on the surface into the lower soil. This can eliminate the odor of the fertilizer. Even if a small amount of fertilizer still remains on the surface of the potting soil, the odor can be greatly reduced after volatilization overnight.

2. Cover soil after application:

Place some fertilizers with a strong odor in a sealed container. After it ferments and decomposes, dilute it about 10 times with clean water before use. After application, cover the surface of the pot with a layer of pre-prepared fine soil to prevent the odor from volatilizing and maintain the fertilizer effect.
