Propagation by divisionDivision propagation is mainly used for the propagation of colorful leaf varieties. When it fills the pot, remove the Chinese evergreen from the pot, use a knife to divide the plant into N clumps, and plant them separately. Or you can replant it in a larger pot, and then change to a smaller pot after the growth stabilizes. Cutting propagationThe cuttings mentioned here refer to branch cuttings, which are usually carried out in April and May. It is best to choose branches and leaves with top buds. Select a strong top branch, about 10 to 12 cm long, retain 1 to 2 leaves on the upper part, place it in a cool place for 1 to 2 hours, wait for the cut to dry, insert it into moist soil, and you're done! Leaf cutting propagationLeaf cuttings are usually carried out in May. Select the strong and mature leaves at the bottom and pick them off with the stalks (broken leaves are also acceptable, but they cannot be diseased leaves). After drying, fold the petiole at 45 degrees and insert it into the soil. Control the temperature at 25℃ and it will take root in about a month. When growing Chinese evergreen leaf cuttings, never put plastic film on the edge of the pot to keep it moist, as this can easily cause the leaves to rot. |
