How to plant seeds

Sowing time

Violet seeds should be sown in time after they mature, and the seedlings need 2-3 years to bloom.

The planting distance is 45-60cm and the planting depth is 7-8cm. Accelerated cultivation is also possible.

After sowing, cover with a layer of medium-sized vermiculite. The best pH for violets is 5.5-5.6. Maintain a certain humidity and keep the temperature at around 18-21℃.

Seedling management

After the violet seeds have fully germinated, move the seedling tray to a well-lit and ventilated place.

In the second and third stages of seedling cultivation, 27,000 Lux of light needs to be provided.

A small amount of nitrogen fertilizer needs to be provided, and the temperature should be lowered to 21°C during the day and 10°C at night. This temperature change rule should be maintained from the beginning of germination to the growth of the fifth true leaf.

Soil and air humidity

Keep the EC value of the soil where violet seeds grow at around 0.7mmhos, supply circulating air and maintain the relative humidity at around 70%.

Transplanting violets into pots

When the seedlings have two true leaves, they can be potted and planted. The initial temperature is 15-18℃, gradually dropping to 10℃ after a week, and then to about 5℃ after a week. In spring, they can be maintained and managed at natural temperature, and fertilizers can be applied normally at this time.

Sowing precautions

Before sowing violet seeds, the soil in the pot should be relatively moist. After sowing, cover it with a thin layer of fine soil and stop watering. If the soil in the pot is dry within half a month, place half of the pot in water and add water from the bottom of the pot to moisten the soil. Pay attention to shade after sowing, and seedlings will emerge in about 15 days.
