Can dragon fruit be heated and eaten? How to peel it?

1. Can it be heated?

It is edible after heating dragon fruit, but you need to be careful when heating it. The temperature should not be too high, and the highest temperature should not exceed 70 degrees. If the heating temperature is too high, the nutrients it contains will be lost, so just make sure the temperature is appropriate. If you want a heating effect, you can steam it, or prepare some hot water and soak it in the water for a while, which can also achieve a heating effect.

2. How to peel

The skin of pitaya is very easy to peel. You can cut off the two ends first, controlling the force so as not to cut off the flesh inside. After cutting off the two sides, make a vertical cut on the peel. Don't use too much force, just let the knife just touch the flesh. After cutting, peel it outwards along the edge of the cut.

When eating dragon fruit, it is okay even if you don’t peel it. The easiest way to eat it is to cut it in half and eat it with a spoon. Or you can cut the flesh into small pieces after cutting it, pour it onto a plate and eat it directly.

3. Notes

After purchasing dragon fruit, it is best to eat it as soon as possible and not refrigerate it if possible. Because the taste of dragon fruit will deteriorate after being refrigerated, and it may even deteriorate over time.
