Golden Diamond Seasonal Maintenance Methods

Golden Diamond Seasonal Maintenance Methods

Spring maintenance of gold diamond

Change the pot in time

In spring, the golden diamond is in the transition stage from dormancy to growth. It is in the recovery period, the metabolism is slow, and new roots have not yet developed, so it is suitable for repotting. The golden diamond is usually repotted every 2 to 3 years, in February to March, and at the latest in April. You can replace it with normal new soil and add sufficient base fertilizer. Reserve nutrients for the growing season.

Water moderately

The plant has just resumed growth, so do not water it too much. Make sure the soil in the pot is slightly moist. Water once every 10 to 15 days, in the morning or evening.

Plenty of sunlight

In early spring, the temperature is slightly lower, so pay attention to keeping the golden diamond warm. The plant can be moved to a balcony or window and maintained in full sunlight every day. Move the plants indoors at night. If you encounter continuous rainy days, you can add artificial lighting.

Summer maintenance of gold diamond

Water in time

Midsummer is the peak growth period for golden diamonds, which require high air humidity and sufficient water, which are very beneficial to promoting their growth. The principle of watering at this time is to keep the soil moist without any water accumulation. Spraying water on the leaves more often can not only clean the leaves but also create a good microclimate.

Avoid direct sunlight

Golden diamonds prefer plenty of scattered light and avoid strong light in summer. When the sunlight is strong in summer and autumn, appropriate shade is needed. If it is kept in a shaded place indoors for too long, it needs to be regularly moved to a place with sufficient light, otherwise the leaves will not grow well and will easily turn yellow.

Autumn maintenance of golden diamond

When the weather turns cooler in autumn, the golden diamond can be placed in a place with bright light and high temperature for maintenance, and watering should be controlled. If it is kept wet for a long time and at low temperatures, the leaves will easily turn yellow, and in severe cases the roots will rot and cause the death of the plant.

Winter maintenance of gold diamond

Raise the temperature

The golden diamond is not cold-resistant. The room temperature in winter should be kept above 10℃ and not lower than 5℃. Otherwise, the leaves will easily develop damaged patches, turn yellow and fall off, reducing its ornamental value.

Reduce watering

When the room temperature is low in winter, watering should be controlled and fertilization should be stopped. When watering in winter, it is better to keep the plant dry rather than wet. The golden diamond is in a dormant period. If it is watered too much, the roots will easily rot, causing slow growth or even cessation of growth.
