How to repot cyclamen? Which month is the best to repot?

1. How to repot cyclamen

1. Remove the soil: Change the soil after the cyclamen has oversummered. Remove the tuberous stem of the plant along with the soil from the flowerpot. Use your hands to remove the outermost layer of soil. Trim the dry and rotten fibrous roots. Do not move the soil attached to the root system. Leave some protective soil to allow the cyclamen to quickly adapt to the pot.

2. Potting soil: The tuberous stems of cyclamen grow slowly, so there is generally no need to change to a larger pot. The main thing is to change the soil to supplement nutrients. Place two tiles at the drainage hole of the original pot, put a layer of expanded clay or stones at the bottom of the pot for drainage, and then fill in new soil. You can mix some organic fertilizer at the bottom of the soil as base fertilizer.

3. Repotting: Re-bury the pruned cyclamen in new soil at the original planting height, water it thoroughly, and place it in a well-ventilated place with diffused light until the leaves on the cyclamen's tuberous stems begin to sprout. Then gradually increase the light exposure. Weigh the soil in the pot regularly. When it feels noticeably lighter, water it thoroughly.

2. When is the best month to repot cyclamen?

It is best to repot cyclamen after summer, when the tuberous stems have not yet sprouted new buds and leaves. Repotting at this time will cause the least damage to the cyclamen. After repotting, the seasonal temperature is just right, allowing the cyclamen to quickly adapt to the pot and grow and bloom. The tuberous stems of cyclamen cannot produce bulbils. If you want to propagate it, you can cut the bulbs at this stage.
