How to water Dendrobium

How to water Dendrobium

Watering principles

Pay attention to check whether the planting substrate is drying quickly but not completely, that is, it is appropriate to water when it is completely dry. When watering, the substrate must be thoroughly watered, otherwise it will not be watered. When using sphagnum moss for cultivation, when planting qualified potted seedlings, a certain water layer will be formed above the water circle when watering, so that the water can fully penetrate the planting material. The interval between watering should not be too frequent, and it is necessary to wait until the sphagnum moss is drying quickly but not completely dry before watering.

Watering method

In spring, summer and autumn, it is best to water between 9 and 11 in the morning. When the temperature in summer is higher than 30℃, attention should be paid to ventilation and moisture retention. Watering should not be done at high temperatures. And it is necessary to turn on the circulating fan after watering to dry the water on the leaves as soon as possible to avoid diseases.

When the winter temperature drops below 10℃, the plant will enter a certain dormancy period and no watering is allowed. If the winter temperature exceeds 10℃, watering can be carried out appropriately. The watering time should be set during sunny days.

When there is too much water, the plant growth will become slow and the roots will be prone to necrosis. You can stop watering to increase the air in the substrate and start watering again after the plant resumes growth.

When there is insufficient water, it is mostly because the watering is not uniform. At this time, you need to improve the watering method. If the substrate has completely dried out, it will become difficult to absorb water and it will need repeated watering to recover. The editor has finished explaining it to you here, so hurry up and start planting~
