For other plants, pruning can promote flowering and grow new branches, but it is different for green ivy. The biggest purpose of pruning is shaping. The shape of each pot of green ivy is different. Some are green ivy columns and some are hanging pots. If you want to maintain its original shape, you must prune it frequently.

Changxin

As the green radish grows over time, its branches and leaves will become longer and thinner, and the branches and leaves at the bottom will gradually age and turn yellow. If you don't trim them in time, I'm afraid your green radish will become an old radish!

How to prune green radish

Pruning of potted green radish

Potted green radish usually has brown columns. When the stems of the green radish cover the brown columns and are longer than about 20 cm, they should be pruned. When pruning, be sure to cut it in half. First, cut off about 40 cm of half of the green radish stems and leaves. After new leaves grow in this part, cut the other half. If pruning is done in winter and the plant grows poorly due to environmental reasons, the pruning length can be shortened appropriately, and 1/2 or 2/3 of the stems of the plant can be cut off respectively. In this way, new leaves will grow quickly and cover the entire palm column.

Pruning of hanging green radish

Hanging green ivy does not have a brown column, and pruning is based on the potting soil. Generally, branches and leaves 20 cm away from the potting soil are cut off. After new leaves of the same length grow out, the old leaves at the bottom are cut off. When pruning, make sure all branches and leaves are renewed.

Note that more care is needed after pruning the branches and leaves to be beneficial to the growth of the green radish.
