Yachiyo's breeding techniques

Yachiyo's breeding techniques

Preparation

Before propagating, you should make sure that the Hachimandai is growing well, has no diseases or pests, and has thick leaves.

Prepare a glass container suitable for Yachiyo, which should be nice-looking but not too big. If you really can't find one, just prepare a nice-looking ceramic flower pot.

Cutting method

The propagation method of Hachimandai is relatively simple, it just needs cuttings, which are divided into branch cuttings and leaf cuttings, and both can be carried out at the same time.

Choose a mother plant with good growth, cut off the head as cutting material, and pull out the leaves to prepare for leaf cuttings.

Just stick the pulled leaves directly into the soil. It is simple, direct, rough and easy to grow. Put the cut off head in a glass container to take roots. Don't do anything, just let it grow on its own. It will take about 10 days to take root.

Don't worry about the remaining bare pole looking ugly. You don't need to do anything. Just put it in a bright and ventilated place and new buds will slowly grow. If you are lucky, 2 to 3 new buds will grow. One plant will become many plants and it will suddenly become a many-headed monster!

Maintenance after cutting

Watering

After cuttings, water the plants with a small amount of water until the soil surface is moist. In the next few days, just keep the soil slightly moist, and there is no need to water the soil or the glass container.

illumination

It can be placed in a bright, well-ventilated place, but don't expose it to direct sunlight.

In about a week, new roots will grow, and then you can go directly to normal watering + sunlight.

Succulent plants themselves have super strong adaptability. If you break off or even cut off the leaves and throw them directly on the ground, they will still grow, so don’t worry, just go for it!
