Is it normal for Monstera leaves to drip water? How to maintain it in daily life

1. It is normal for leaves to drip water

When you grow Monstera at home, water may sometimes drip from its leaves. This may seem strange to many people, but it is actually a normal phenomenon, similar to the case with the Dripping Water Goddess. Monstera itself is a plant that belongs to the tropical rainforest. It likes a high temperature and high humidity environment. Once the soil in which it grows has sufficient water content and the temperature in the environment is high, the roots will have a strong ability to absorb water. The water cannot evaporate and dissipate from the stomata, so the excess water can only flow out, forming this strange scene.

Please note that the stems and leaves of Monstera contain toxins, so the water that flows out is also toxic. When caring for it indoors, be sure to take care not to ingest it accidentally, do not touch it directly with your hands, and avoid dripping it onto clothes or food to prevent poisoning. If you are accidentally poisoned, you need to seek medical treatment immediately.

2. How to maintain it in daily life

Monstera's native habitat is in the tropical rainforest, so it cannot be exposed to strong direct light. It grows well in a place with good diffuse light. It can be kept at home in a brightly lit location. Water in time to keep the growing environment moist, and spray water on the plants in time during the dry season. Apply fertilizer according to growth needs to meet nutrient requirements.
