Finger carrot planting time and method

Finger carrot planting time

The planting time of finger carrots varies in different regions. In the northwest and north China, sowing usually starts in early July, while in the northeast and some high-drought areas, sowing should start in June and can be harvested in autumn.

How to grow finger carrots

1. Land preparation and fertilization: When sowing finger carrots, you need to choose sandy loam or loam with deep soil, fertility and good drainage. Avoid using continuous cropping plots, which is more beneficial for the emergence of seedlings. Before sowing, you need to deep plow and harrow, and apply enough base fertilizer.

2. Soaking seeds for germination: The germination rate of finger carrot seeds is relatively low, so you need to use healthier seeds, and soak the seeds for germination, so that the seedlings can emerge 5-6 days in advance.

3. Sowing: After processing the carrot seeds, you can sow them. In order to make them grow better, you need to keep the temperature at 18-25 degrees for sowing. After sowing, you need to water them appropriately to keep the soil moist.

Tips for planting finger carrots

Finger carrots need to be thinned out 20 days after germination. Some overcrowded seedlings and weeds need to be removed. During normal maintenance, in order to ensure good growth, they should be watered regularly, usually just keeping the soil moist.
