Cultivation methods and precautions of agapanthus

Cultivation methods and precautions of agapanthus

1. Soil requirements

When growing Agapanthus, the primary requirement for the soil is air permeability and drainage. Loose and fertile sandy soil should be provided, and the pH value should be maintained at around 5.5-6.5.

2. Sunlight

Agapanthus requires some sunlight during its growth and can be placed in a bright place with sufficient soft scattered light to carry out photosynthesis and promote growth. Be aware that the summer sunlight is too strong, so you need to avoid direct sunlight to prevent strong light from damaging the leaves of the plant.

3. Reasonable watering

It likes to grow in a humid environment and has a certain demand for water. It needs to be watered regularly during the growing period to provide water supply, especially in the hot summer when the temperature evaporates quickly, so it needs to be given sufficient water. In late autumn and winter, you need to gradually reduce watering.

4. Reasonable fertilization

It is necessary to apply sufficient base fertilizer before planting in pots. During the later period of vigorous growth, fertilizer can be applied every half a month, mainly in the form of decomposed fertilizer water.

5. Notes

When raising it at home, you should pay attention to pruning and pest and disease issues, prune the plants regularly, and clean up the dead branches and leaves in time. Pay attention to good ventilation conditions, prevent diseases and pests, and spray pesticides in time after infection.
