Should asparagus fern be grown indoors or outdoors? How to save it from yellowing leaves

1. Indoor or outdoor breeding

Asparagus fern can be grown not only indoors but also outdoors. It is a shade-tolerant plant, so it can grow well even in a room with poor lighting. When caring for it outdoors, pay attention to providing shade and do not expose it to strong sunlight. If you grow it indoors, you need to water it less and pay attention to increasing the ventilation of the maintenance environment.

2. How to save the yellowing leaves

1. Yellowing due to drought: Yellow leaves caused by lack of water are easy to save. You can cut off the branches first. If the leaves are not completely dry, they can be saved. The yellowing leaves should be cut off and the plant should be watered thoroughly. It should be placed in a well-lit and ventilated place. The branches and leaves should be sprayed with water every day. The condition will usually improve in a week.

2. Yellowing due to fertilizer damage: Yellow leaves caused by fertilizer damage are more serious. If the root rot is not serious, you need to cut off the rotten roots and yellow leaves, disinfect the roots, replace the soil with new soil and replant. If the root rot is more serious, it is better to buy a new pot for the plant.

3. Yellowing: If there are a small number of yellow leaves on the asparagus fern, simply cut off the yellowed parts and place it in a ventilated place for maintenance, and temporarily stop watering. If there are a large number of yellow leaves, you need to remove the plant from the pot and prune it, because too much water will soak its roots and cause root rot. Similarly, trim off the rotten roots, use carbendazim or potassium permanganate to disinfect, and finally plant the plants. Don't water unless the soil is dry. There should generally be no water accumulation in the pot.
