How big can a lotus leaf be divided? What should I do if the leaves turn yellow?

1. How big should the lotus be before it can be divided?

When the lotus leaf grows to a certain size, a new leaf will grow from under the leaf. Once you see new leaves growing, you can separate the new leaves from the original plant. You can directly cut off the new leaves and grow them in different containers. Four or five days after division, you can see roots growing under the new leaves, and the division work is successfully completed.

2. What to do if leaves turn yellow

Rehydrate in time: Astragalus is an aquatic plant. If the leaves turn yellow, it may be caused by dry soil. It is necessary to water the soil in time to moisten it. You can pour two to three centimeters of water into the container.

Supplement nutrients: If the plant lacks nutrients, its leaves will turn yellow. It needs to be supplemented with nutrients in time, and some compound fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium can be applied. Generally, this compound fertilizer or fermented rice water can be applied once a month in spring and autumn, which can make the water lily grow better and have a higher ornamental value.

Provide enough light: If the environment in which the lotus is grown lacks sufficient light, it will also cause yellow leaves. You can move it to an environment with sufficient light for maintenance, and just make sure to shade it when the light is too strong.

Disease prevention and control: If the lotus is not well maintained, it may suffer from chlorosis, which will cause its leaves to turn yellow. It is necessary to improve the ventilation conditions of the maintenance environment, strengthen daily management, cut off the diseased leaves, and spray pesticides for prevention and control.
