The difference between Artemisia selengensis and Artemisia argyi

1. Differences in the stems

The stem of the Artemisia selengensis is upright and can reach 80 cm in height. It has many thin branches and small leaves grow from the stem.

The stem of Artemisia white artemisia is solitary, slightly woody at the lower part, with obvious longitudinal ridges and white soft hairs. The main root below the stem is a vertical narrow spindle shape.

2. The difference of leaves

The leaves of Artemisia selengensis are deeply pinnate, with the lobes at the terminal being linear or oblong. The leaves above the lobes have no petioles, while the leaves below have petioles.

The leaves of Artemisia argyi are broadly oval in shape, with fine white hairs on both sides, 4 to 8 cm long and 3 to 6 cm wide.

3. The difference of flowers

The flowers of Artemisia selengensis are yellow in color, spoon-shaped, oblong-obovate, 2 to 2.5 mm long, and of the same size as the calyx or slightly shorter than the sepals. The flowering period is from April to May.

The flower head of Artemisia white artemisia is large and hemispherical or nearly spherical in shape. The flowering period is around June.
