Cultivation methods and precautions of Ma Lan Hua

Cultivation methods and precautions of Ma Lan Hua

1. Sunlight

The tassel flower likes a warm and sunny environment and should be planted in a sunny place. In winter, it should be kept in a place with good lighting. In summer, if the sun is too strong, it also needs appropriate shade. Potted plants should also be placed in a sunny place, such as a balcony, windowsill, etc.

2. Soil

Because the horsetail flower is distributed in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and other areas, the soil is mostly acidic, so the pH value of the soil should be controlled between 5.5 and 6.5 during planting and cultivation, and the humus requirements of the soil are relatively high. The water must be well-drained. Although the tower likes fertile soil, the amount must be controlled, otherwise it will lead to problems such as root rot and death.

3. Water

Keep the soil moist. Because the horsetail flower is not tolerant to waterlogging, it is not advisable to water it too much. The principle of watering is to keep the soil appropriately dry and wet. For example, if there is plenty of rain in the summer, you can water the plants appropriately or not at all depending on how moist the soil is. During the winter drought, you can water in small amounts.

4. Nutrients

Usually, top dressing should be done in time, but not too much fertilizer. The commonly used fertilizer is alum fertilizer water, and it is sufficient to apply fertilizer two to three times a month. During the period of flower bud differentiation and bud formation, some phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer should be applied.
