How to grow dianthus

1. Soil:

Dianthus has a strong ability to adapt to soil and can survive in most soils. It is suitable for cultivation in fertile loam with deep soil layer and good drainage.

2. Lighting:

During its growth period, the silk dianthus needs sufficient light, and in winter, the minimum supplementary light is 12 hours, and 16 hours is best. This will promote plant growth.

3. Watering:

Dianthus needs a lot of water during its growth period. It needs to be watered frequently to maintain sufficient moisture. Insufficient water will cause the seedlings to grow slowly. But be careful not to overwater, as this will cause water accumulation and root rot.

4. Temperature:

Dianthus is not resistant to high temperatures and prefers cool climates. The suitable temperature during the growth period is 15-25℃. Do not let it be too high or too low, otherwise it will easily cause the plant to grow stems but not bloom.

5. Pest and disease control:

1. Diseases: The main diseases of dianthus are leaf spot and stem rot, which will harm the leaves and rhizomes of dianthus and may even cause the death of the plant in severe cases. Before planting, the soil should be disinfected with formaldehyde solution, and if diseases are found, fungicides should be sprayed for prevention and control.

2. Pests: The main pests of dianthus are aphids and mites, which feed on the leaves of dianthus. If insect pests are found, they can be killed manually or sprayed with chemical agents such as dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane for prevention and control.
