How to cultivate Geranium serrata

How to cultivate Geranium serrata

1. Soil:

Geranium is suitable for growing and cultivating in loose, fertile, well-drained loam rich in organic matter. Nutrients must be abundant to ensure plant growth.

2. Lighting:

During the growth period of Geranium strychnifolia, it should receive light for at least 6 hours a day to promote the growth of the plant. But be careful not to expose the plant to direct sunlight to avoid sunburn.

3. Watering:

The mouse-palmed stork likes moisture and needs to be watered frequently during cultivation. Water it once a day in spring and summer, and reduce the frequency of watering in autumn and winter. Remember not to overwater to avoid watering.

4. Temperature:

Geranium is not cold-resistant and prefers warm climate. The suitable temperature during the growth period is 21~28℃. If the temperature is lower than 5℃, the plants will be frozen.

5. Pest and disease control:

1. Diseases: The main disease of Geranium strychnifolia is stem rot. Root rot can cause the rhizomes of Geranium to rot, and in severe cases can cause the death of the plant. The soil should be disinfected with formaldehyde solution before planting, and if the disease is found, fungicides should be sprayed for prevention and control.

2. Pests: The main pest of Geranium is aphids, which feed on the leaves of Geranium and affect the development of the plant. If insect pests are found, they can be controlled by spraying chemical agents such as trichlorfon.
