Cultivation method of Jianshi maple

Cultivation method of Jianshi maple

1. Soil:

Jianshi maple has strong adaptability and is not very demanding on soil. It is best planted on semi-sunny or sunny slopes. At the same time, the soil should be fertile and deep with good drainage.

2. Fertilization:

Jianshi maple has a strong demand for fertilizer. Nitrogen fertilizer should be applied 2-3 times in the young stage, base fertilizer should be applied in the dormant period, and topdressing should be applied 3-4 times in the later period, mainly nitrogen and potassium fertilizers. During the growing season, you can also apply foliar fertilizer, mainly farmyard manure and cake fertilizer.

3. Watering:

Water the Jianshi maple in moderation to ensure that the soil in the pot is moist. Do not water it too much, otherwise water will accumulate and the roots will easily rot. When the temperature is higher in summer, you can increase the watering frequency.

4. Lighting:

Acer truncatum prefers an environment with plenty of sunlight. It needs sufficient light to grow. It should avoid scorching sun and drought in midsummer, otherwise the leaves will easily dry up and burn. It should be properly shaded.

5. Notes:

1. Diseases:

The main diseases of Jianshi maple are brown spot and powdery mildew, which will harm the leaves of Jianshi maple and affect its growth. You can spray Bordeaux mixture or carbendazim wettable powder once every 10-15 days, and spray 2-3 times in a row, which can be effective in prevention and control.

2. Pests:

The main pests are the yellow thorn moth and the glabripennis beetle, which suck the leaves and sap of the plants. You can use chemical agents such as dichlorvos solution, cypermethrin emulsion solution, etc. to spray for prevention and control.
