Tulip cultivation methods and precautions

Tulip cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

Acidic soil is required for growing tulips. They like loose and well-ventilated soil. Be careful not to use too alkaline soil. And don't use clay soil, otherwise it will affect its growth.

2. Sunlight

It needs to receive different degrees of sunlight at different stages. Newly planted plants within half a month need proper shading to facilitate the growth of flower buds. After germination, the plants need to increase light appropriately to help promote new flower buds. In order to prolong the flowering period, the flower buds need to be protected from strong sunlight after they are colored, and should receive appropriate scattered light.

3. Watering

Usually, when newly planted, you can give it enough water to help its roots grow. In the later stage, you should gradually reduce watering and pay attention to water control to help it grow and bloom better.

4. Fertilization

It has relatively high requirements for fertilizer, and it is better to use decomposed flower fertilizer or fertilizer cake. Usually, after it grows flower buds, it is sufficient to add fertilizer 2-3 times.

5. Pests and diseases

High temperature and humidity are most likely to cause insect infestation. Disinfecting the soil before planting can also effectively prevent insect pests or pathogens from being carried in the soil. After discovery, spray the plant with medicine in time to help it resume growth, and place it in a place with good airflow for maintenance.
