1. Pot soil selection

It is better to use slightly heavy loam as the substrate in cultivation. At the same time, you can also add a small amount of compound fertilizer or fertilizer tablets to provide nutrition. In addition, pay attention to controlling the water depth and the size of the pot . For planting in a pool, a water depth of about 40 cm is more appropriate; while for potted plants, the water depth only needs to be controlled at about 10 cm. Generally, a hydroponic container with a diameter larger than the leaves can be prepared.

2. Temperature control

The suitable growth temperature of Aspidistra is 12 to 35℃. When the temperature is higher than 35℃ in summer, it needs to be placed in a cool place indoors to cool down. When the temperature is lower than 10℃ in winter, it needs to be placed in a warm place indoors but at a certain distance from the heating equipment to avoid frostbite from low temperature and scald from heating.

3. Lighting management

The lotus needs sufficient light, but it should not be exposed to strong direct sunlight for a long time. It can be placed in diffuse light to promote healthy growth.

4. Fertilization points

If you want to fertilize the water lily, you can put 5-10 granular slow-release fertilizers in the hydroponic pot so that it slowly releases the fertilizer effect, or you can drop a few drops of hydroponic nutrient solution into the water every time you change the water. Be careful not to make the concentration too high. This will promote its growth and allow it to bloom continuously.

5. Water quality management

Aspidistra has high requirements for water quality. Clean and pollution-free water should be used, and tap water should be left to stand for 2 weeks before use to remove chlorine. In addition, pay attention to changing the water regularly to keep the water clean, changing it at least twice a week in summer and once a week in winter.

6. Reproduction method

Alocasia can generally be propagated by two methods: cuttings and division. Among them, division propagation is a relatively simple method. When dividing, first remove the densely growing lotus roots from their original position. Then use sharp and clean scissors to divide it into small pieces. Each piece should contain a sufficient number of healthy stem segments and new shoots. Finally, replant the individual pieces into containers containing an appropriate amount of soil or substrate (such as heavy loam).

In general, it is not difficult to cultivate a lotus leaf. As long as you follow the above methods and precautions, the lotus leaf will be able to grow healthily and healthily, showing its unique charm.
