The difference between physalis and violet physalis

1. Different varieties

There are many types of gentiana, including Viola yedoensis. In addition to this variety, there is also Candida yedoensis. It is a perennial herb of the Poppy family. It has low requirements for soil and has strong adaptability.

Viola yedoensis is one of them, and it has many nicknames, including violet petal, wild violet, and violet calyx. It is related to the former, so it looks similar, but there are still differences.

2. Different plant types

The ground lily has a taproot and its plant is relatively tall, about 10-50 cm. The stem begins to branch from the base and has ridges on it.

Viola yedoensis has no above-ground stem, and the overall height of the plant is about 4-14 cm. During the fruit-bearing period, the height becomes taller and can reach more than 20 cm. The rhizome below is relatively short, vertical, and light brown in appearance.

3. Different flowers

There are many flowers of the plant, which are pink to lavender in color. The outer side of the petals is concave and has shallow round teeth on the edges.

The flower color of Viola yedoensis is different from the former. Most of the colors are lavender, violet, and white. If you look closely at the throat, you will see purple stripes.
