What to do if the leaves of camellia shrink after being potted

What to do if the leaves of camellia shrink after being potted

1. Root care

Reason: After the camellia was potted, the leaves began to shrink. It may be that the roots were damaged when it was removed from the pot and put into the pot, resulting in the weakening of the absorption function. It can no longer absorb water and nutrients from the potting soil, and the growth of the leaves cannot be supported, which will cause shrinkage.

Solution: Always pay attention during the operation and try not to damage the roots. If you find that the roots are damaged, you need careful maintenance. Do not water or fertilize them first. Apply rooting agent and wait for recovery.

2. Adjust the temperature

Reason: Camellia likes to grow in a suitable environment. If the temperature exceeds 29℃, it will stop growing, evaporation will become faster, and the leaves will shrink due to lack of water.

Solution: Adjust the temperature and place it in a cool and well-ventilated place for maintenance.

3. Change the soil

Reason: Camellia has certain requirements for soil quality. If the soil is not suitable after repotting, it will also cause the camellia leaves to wither.

Solution: If the soil is unsuitable, it needs to be replaced. You can use a mixture of peat soil and fine sand, but pay attention to the operation method, otherwise it will cause secondary damage to the plant.

4. Block out the scorching sun

Reason: After the camellia is potted, it must be well maintained. If it is exposed to the strong sun, the leaves will shrink.

Solution: After potting, place it under diffuse light for maintenance, avoid exposure to strong light, and block the sun appropriately.
