The difference between Jianlan and Molan

1. Different varieties

Jianlan is also called four-season orchid, sword orchid, male orchid, etc. It likes to grow in secluded valleys, but it also needs light to maintain good growth.

Mo Lan is also called the New Year Orchid and the New Year Orchid. It likes to grow in woods with abundant rainfall. It has high requirements for humidity and cannot tolerate dryness.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of Jianlan are relatively narrow and small, about 30-60 cm long and 1-1.5 cm wide. The secondary veins are relatively transparent and the color is relatively light. The number of leaves is relatively small, only 2-4, which are ribbon-shaped and have a shiny surface.

The leaves of Mo Lan are relatively wide, about 45-80 cm in length. If you look closely at the position of the secondary veins, you will see that the color is dark green, not very transparent, and is darker in color.

3. Different flowers

The flowering period of Jianlan is from June to October, which is relatively early. The flowers are light yellow in color, and there are dark purple spots on the petals.

The flowering period of Mo Lan is relatively late, from October to March of the following year. The flowers are yellow or purple-red in color and last for a long time.
