The difference between amaryllis and daffodils

1. Different bulbs

The bulb of Amaryllis is nearly spherical in shape, with a diameter of about 5-7.5 cm, and has creeping branches on it.

The bulb of daffodil is ovoid in shape, covered with a yellowish-brown papery film on the outside, with axillary buds between each layer and flower buds in the central part.

2. Different leaves

The amaryllis plant has 6-8 leaves, which grow out from behind the flowers and are relatively wide and ribbon-shaped. It is bright green in color, about 30 cm long and about 2.5 cm wide at the base.

Narcissus plants have 5-9 leaves, sometimes up to 11 leaves. Its leaves are pale green with white frost on the surface. The mature leaves are about 30-50 cm long and 1-5 cm wide. The leaves do not have petioles.

3. Different flowers

The former blooms in summer, and the flowers are relatively large, shaped like a trumpet that spreads outward, and the colors of the flowers are mostly red or pink and white.

The latter blooms in spring, the flowers are relatively smaller, the petals are elliptical in shape, the flowers are generally white with yellow in the middle.
