How to grow poppies on the balcony, what should you pay attention to

1. Light exposure

Poppy loves sunlight very much. If there is a lack of sunlight during maintenance, its growth will be affected. Therefore, it needs more exposure to sunlight during the maintenance process and cannot grow in places with poor light, otherwise its growth will be hindered. If you keep it at home, you can place it on the balcony. The light can promote its growth and ensure its flowering. However, special attention should be paid in the summer, as the light is strongly stimulating and needs to be properly blocked.

2. Apply moisture

The poppy plant is relatively drought-resistant and does not need to be watered too frequently. If water accumulates, it will cause the roots to rot. Under normal growth conditions, water it every 3-7 days. In the hot summer climate, evaporation is vigorous, so you can increase the amount of watering to alleviate the evaporation of water.

3. Apply fertilizer

Fertilization is also an important step in maintenance. It likes fertilizer. Fertilize every 10-15 days to ensure the supply of nutrients. Fertilization should not be reduced before and after flowering. You can apply thin liquid fertilizer every half a month. The temperature is relatively low in winter and the growth rate slows down. At this time, the amount of fertilizer required is less, so fertilization can be reduced or suspended.

4. Temperature requirements

It likes a warm growing environment and grows well in an environment of 12-20 degrees Celsius. Pay attention in winter, the temperature should be kept above 10℃.
