Is Lithops easy to grow?

Is Lithops easy to grow?

1. Is it easy to raise?

Lithops grow best in a warm and dry environment. They are afraid of low temperatures and should be avoided from strong sunlight. The humidity in the south is too high, so it needs a dry environment. Winters in the north are cold, so the temperature must not drop below 12°C to avoid frostbite on the plants. As long as these conditions are met, it is relatively easy to raise.

2. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Lithops does not have high requirements for soil. Generally, neutral soil is preferred, and the soil should be loose to ensure good drainage. You can use humus soil mixed with river sand for planting, and add a little bone meal as base fertilizer.

2. Light: Lithops cannot grow without sufficient light, but strong sunlight can burn the plant and it is easy to lose water. Therefore, it is necessary to provide appropriate shade in summer, or place it in semi-shade. In autumn, the plant must be exposed to sunlight for a long time to prevent it from growing too tall and affecting its flowering.

3. Watering: Since Lithops is afraid of waterlogging, the water content must be well controlled. Water less during the molting period to let the old skin dry as quickly as possible. It enters a dormant period in summer and should not be watered too much. If ventilation conditions are poor, you may even have to cut off water completely to prevent the plants from rotting.

4. Fertilization: Do not apply fertilizer to Lithops during the molting period to avoid affecting the growth of the plant. At the end of molting, apply compound fertilizer to promote its growth. Fertilize frequently during the growing season, applying liquid fertilizer once every 20 days to provide nutrients for the plants.
