How to grow daffodil lilies

How to grow daffodil lilies

1. Maintenance methods

1. Light: Narcissus lily needs sufficient light during the flower bud development period. Insufficient light can easily cause it to develop poorly and cause leaves to fall off. However, proper shade is needed in summer, and the flower pot should be rotated every once in a while to ensure even light.

2. Temperature: In the early growth stage of narcissus lily, the temperature should be controlled at 5-13℃. When the temperature is too high, shade or water spraying is needed to cool it down. After the rhizomes grow out, the temperature can be appropriately raised, generally between 18-25℃.

3. Watering: During the growth period of narcissus lily, the substrate should be kept moist, but not too humid, otherwise it will affect the breathing of the root system. Generally, watering in the early morning is more conducive to absorption. You can also spray water to increase the humidity of the environment.

4. Fertilization: Start fertilizing the narcissus lily one month after planting. Generally, fertilizer should be applied every 5-7 days, with nitrogen fertilizer as the main fertilizer, and less phosphorus fertilizer should be applied to avoid leaf burns.

2. Breeding techniques

Narcissus lilies are usually propagated by scale cuttings. After cuttings, small balls will appear, which can become bulbs after proper cultivation. You can also use tissue culture to quickly cultivate high-quality seedlings.

3. Pest and disease control

1. Diseases: Common diseases include blight, gray mold and viral diseases. Among them, the blight harms the rhizomes and can easily lead to withering and death. It can be treated with ethylene phosphate aluminum solution. Gray mold damages leaves and flowers and can be controlled with methyl thiophanate solution. Viral diseases can cause plants to be dwarfed and deformed, and can be treated with Virulin solution.

2. Pests: The main pests are aphids, leafminers and underground pests. After an insect infestation occurs, the pests should be removed, diseased branches and leaves should be cut off, and pesticides should be sprayed to kill the insects.
