What size pot should be used for guava potted plants, what kind of soil should be used, and how should fertilizer and water be applied?

1. Flowerpot size

The flowerpot used for guava potted plants does not need to be too big. A small pot will be enough when you first start planting it. As it grows bigger, you can change to a larger pot. Everyone has different maintenance methods and the sizes of the plants also vary, as long as the pot is not too small it will be fine. If you think it is growing too fast, just change to a bigger pot.

2. Soil Selection

The plant does not have high requirements for soil growth, but if you want it to grow faster, it is best to use sandy loam that is well-drained, loose and highly air-permeable. It is resistant to both acid and alkali, so the soil pH can be between 4.5-8.0. If the pH value is lower than 4.5 or higher than 8.2, it will hinder its growth.

3. Fertilization method

When it is a young tree, apply nitrogen-based fertilizer when new buds sprout, and apply fertilizer once when the new shoots grow to about 40 cm. Compound fertilizer should be applied when the fruit is ripe, and farmyard manure can be applied after the fruit is harvested. In addition, use foliar fertilizer once during the bud formation stage and when small fruits are growing.

4. Watering method

During the maintenance period, water it when the soil is dry and there must not be excess moisture in the soil. Before watering, check the soil moisture and water it in time if there are cracks. On rainy days, drain the rainwater from the potted plants to prevent root rot. Generally, the weather is relatively dry in summer, so you should try to water evenly and don't water too much at once.
